‘The
Politics of The
Song.’
A bitter story of betrayal and
redemption.
Can
Musical Theatre
inspire
you? Can it move you?
Could it radicalise you?
Or is it just saccharine
overblown sentimental tosh; actually
the closest thing to right-wing
theatre
currently on offer on our stages?
Maybe this show could answer some
of the above.
Maybe not.
But it will be
quite cheap and the
performers are tried and tested old dependable lags, so it should at
least make
a change from X-Factor or Ice Dancing with stars on
tight ropes in the jungle.
The
Words of Bertolt
Brecht.
Music
from Kurt Weill,
Hans Eisler and Paul Dessau
through to Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Jaques Brel,
David Bowie and Bjork to name but a few!
Featuring
CHRISTOPHER HOLT and
JAKE RODRIGUES
Not sound
like fun? One
act of
original 1930’s / 40's / 50's political
propaganda songs
followed by a history lesson in the genre of Musical Theatre?
